Ronnie Barker OBE

One of the UK’s most loved and most famous comedians Ronnie Barker was born in Bedford in 1929.  Part of the Two Ronnies, Ronnie Barker became a national treasure due to his endearing double act with Ronnie Corbett.

Ronnie was honoured by royalty in 1978 when he as order the Order of the British Empire aka an OBE.  Ronnie later starred in Open All Hours (alongside David Jason) and prison drama Porridge.

Ronnie won numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement award at the BAFTAs in 2004.
